Position SummaryReporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager, Finance - Property Management (PM) will play a significant role in advancing Dixon Hall’s mission by maintaining high standards and supporting the continuous improvement of the Finance department. The Manager, Finance - PM is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of projects in Supportive Housing and Real Estate & Property Management divisions. This role also oversees financial expenditure, reporting, operational reporting, day-to-day management, and external audits.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Manager, Finance - PM in property management is multifaceted and essential for the financial health of the properties. Responsibilities include:
- Strategic financial planning and aligning strategies with organizational goals.
- Developing approaches to maximize rental income and enhance property management practices.
- Monitoring KPIs to measure operational success.
- Streamlining workflows and optimizing processes.
- Managing vendor relationships for timely and cost-effective services.
- Implementing financial policies and controls specific to RGI properties.
- Preparing and managing annual budgets, including forecasting revenue and controlling expenses.
- Creating 10-year cash flow projections for RGI properties.
- Managing relations with lending agencies and organizations.
- Supporting programs and processes that promote financial stability and compliance.
- Providing regular financial reports to senior management and the board.
- Ensuring compliance with government regulations and funding requirements.
- Coordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Staying updated on regulatory and industry best practices.
- Handling financial transactions such as rent calculations, subsidies, lease agreements, accounts payable, and general ledger.
- Identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Establishing internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Conducting audits and reviews for compliance and improvements.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in finance and accounting, with 2+ years in property management or affordable housing finance.
- Strong knowledge of RGI housing programs, regulations, and funding in Ontario, especially Toronto.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting software (e.g., Yardi, Excel).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a satisfactory result.
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations approved in Canada.
