Job summary

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager, Finance - Property Management (PM) will play a significant role in advancing Dixon Hall’s mission by maintaining high standards and supporting the continuous improvement of Dixon Hall’s Finance department. The Manager, Finance - PM is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of projects in the Supportive Housing and Real Estate & Property Management divisions. They will oversee financial expenditure, reporting, and support operational and external audits.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maximize rental income and improve property management practices.
  • Monitor KPIs to measure operational success.
  • Streamline workflows and optimize processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships for cost-effective procurement.
  • Develop financial policies and controls specific to RGI properties.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, including forecasting revenue and controlling expenses.
  • Create 10-year cash flow projections for RGI properties.
  • Maintain relations with lending agencies and organizations.
  • Support programs and processes that ensure financial stability and compliance.
  • Provide regular financial reports to senior management and the board.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and funding requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage financial transactions, including rent calculations, subsidies, and lease agreements.
  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct audits and reviews for compliance and improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance and accounting, with 2 years in property management or affordable housing finance.
  • Strong knowledge of RGI housing programs, regulations, and funding in Ontario, especially Toronto.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and software (e.g., Yardi, Excel).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check.
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations as per Canadian standards.
