Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Managing Director for British Columbia, the Business Development Manager will generate revenue and ensure excellent client experiences within our studio facilities, from initial contact to project completion. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and directing staff, financial, and physical resources for client productions, and ensuring facilities meet stakeholder needs through data-driven improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage external client relationships: lead generation, negotiations, contracts, invoicing, logistics, and security oversight.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with local cultural and civic partners.
  3. Oversee recruitment, development, training, and scheduling of staff.
  4. Handle administrative tasks: invoicing, recordkeeping, revenue projection.
  5. Coordinate with Building Management, Finance, and Legal teams.
  6. Support internal productions, stakeholder meetings, and risk assessments.
  7. Manage facility bookings, equipment, and asset disposal.
  8. Respond to external inquiries regarding bookings and services.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum five (5) years of leadership and staff management experience.
  • Event/production management skills and stakeholder relationship development.
  • Strong understanding of film industry, location management, and media production.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven project management and budgetary experience.
  • Experience in unionized environments and health & safety leadership is an asset.
  • French or other language skills are an asset.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends, as required.
