Job summary

MNP LLP in Calgary is seeking a Manager to lead AML regulatory compliance and forensics engagements, combining accounting, investigations and advisory expertise to protect client assets and reputations. You will manage fraud investigations, regulatory inquiries and risk assessments, while mentoring teams and delivering high-quality reports, budgets and billing oversight.

This on-site, full-time role emphasizes client relationship-building, industry knowledge and the ability to travel as needed

Qualifications

  • AML audit experience required
  • CPA designation or CFE asset
  • 3+ years public accounting audit asset
  • Experience in business and practice development
  • Proven relationship building and leadership skills
  • CAMS certification asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and delivery of client engagements in fraud investigations and regulatory inquiries
  • Analyze economic loss claims, prepare financials and tracing funds/accounts
  • Execute investigative plans on sensitive matters and develop expert financial reports
  • Manage engagement planning, budgets, WIP and billing
  • Provide industry and technical expertise through research, reports and presentations
  • Identify value-added services and grow client relationships
  • Mentor and coach team members toward development

Make an impact with our Forensics & Litigation Support team as a Manager. This diverse team of professionals combines accounting and investigative expertise to protect clients' assets and reputation. As a trusted advisor, you'll implement anti-fraud controls and resolve fraud emergencies, reducing clients' exposure to criminal and civil wrongdoing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of client engagements assisting fraud investigations, litigation support, risk assessments and other specialized proceedings or regulatory inquiries for a wide variety of clients, industries and disputes
  • Calculate and analyze economic loss claims, provide commercial advice, prepare financials and tracing funds/accounts
  • Execute investigative plans on sensitive litigious matters, objectively analyze complex financial matters and develop independent expert financial reports
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Provide industry and technical expertise through client interactions, research and analysis, reports, technical work, management presentations, proposals and other high-quality deliverables
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Previous AML audit experience is required
  • CPA designation or successful completion of the CFE is an asset
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience in audit is an asset
  • Experience in business and practice development
  • Proven relationship building and leadership skills, along with file and client management
  • CAMS certification is an asset
