Job summary

University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking an IT Services Technician to join the Technology Operations team within CCS. The role provides broad desktop and mobility support to faculty, staff and students, delivered through email, phone, chat and in person.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware and software issues, setting up new computers and equipment, and guiding clients. You will also participate in documentation and process improvements to enhance IT services.

Qualifications

• Two-year college diploma in computer networking and technical support with a minimum one year of related experience.
• Experience providing Windows and/or macOS support to a large, diverse community, preferably in an education environment.
• Experience in an IT service desk environment.
• Familiarity with endpoint computing tools such as MECM, Intune, JAMF is advantageous.
• Broad knowledge of university policies related to IT, security and privacy is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technology support to faculty, staff and students via email, phone, chat and in-person channels.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops and laptops; assist with setup of new computers and equipment.
• Support ordering and setup of new devices; contribute to documentation and process improvements to enhance IT services.
