Job summary

Carewest is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support Garrison Green facilities in Calgary on a temporary full-time basis. Under general supervision you will perform a wide range of mechanical maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance on HVAC, life-safety, nurse call, plumbing, and patient beds; assist contractors; read and follow written instructions; and provide excellent service to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Minimum two years related experience in building maintenance in an institutional setting is required.
• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• Demonstrated experience working with customers.
• Ability to read and understand written instruction.
• Basic computer skills are required for daily use of the AHS e-Facilities system.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of skilled mechanical maintenance and repair work on the building, equipment, and operating systems per Carewest standards.
• Provide preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment including HVAC, life safety systems, nurse call, telephones, patient beds and lifts, plumbing and drainage systems.
• Assist other maintenance staff and contractors; perform related duties as required.

The Opportunity

Position Summary:

Under general supervision performs a wide range of skilled mechanical maintenance and repair work related to the building, equipment, and operating systems as per the Carewest standards.

Representative work includes: Demand facility maintenance as required by the customer. Preventative maintenance on all facility systems and equipment , which includes but not limited to HVAC, Life safety systems, Nurse Call, Telephones, patient beds and lifts, plumbing and drainage systems. Provide assistance to all other maintenance staff, as well as contractors. Performs other related duties as required.
