Come work as a Maintenance Worker 5 with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Maintenance Worker 5 to join the Plant Maintenance team Oak Care Centre in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Maintenance Worker at Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

• Perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in a variety of trades’ areas such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding.
• Perform maintenance and repair duties related to buildings and equipment and perform mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and systems.
• Participate on the Rapid Response Team and as a member of the Maintenance team.
• Assist other team members in their duties to ensure a timely and complete delivery of service to our clients.
• Act in various capacities, supporting maintenance in general terms.
• Act as a customer service advocate, accelerating the resolution of customer concerns.

This position may require inter-site work assignments, and working in a support role to trades personnel.This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Grade 10, plus four (4) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
