The Facilities Maintenance team at Providence Health Care is seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker 5 to contribute to the well-being of the communities we serve by ensuring the seamless operation of St. Paul's Hospital.

As a Maintenance Worker 5, you will be involved in building maintenance, including installations, renovations, and preventative and corrective maintenance related to buildings, structural elements, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Minimum Education
  • Grade 10, plus four years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Physical capability to perform duties.
  • Ability to organize work efficiently.
  • Proficiency in operating related equipment.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Plumbing: Install and modify fixtures, taps, sinks, and toilets.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Repairs: Maintain equipment like autoclaves, washers, sterilizers, and dryers.
  • Construction & Repair: Build and repair shelves, furniture, walls, and structures.
  • Painting & Decoration: Apply paint, plaster, wall coverings, and install various items.
  • Renovations & Repairs: Conduct minor renovations, roof repairs, and demolitions.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and monitor maintenance procedures, recommend repairs.
  • Supervision: Coordinate work and evaluate employee performance.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain shop and storage areas, dispose of materials properly.
