Job description

As a maintenance worker, you will be responsible for carrying out tasks that have an impact on the environmental quality of work, while applying established safety standards. You’ll perform a variety of maintenance and repair work in the various building trades.

Your daily routine
  1. Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, furniture, and equipment: Keeps an up-to-date record of requests made.
  2. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with safety rules and accident prevention: Monitors compliance with fire prevention standards (emergency exits, emergency lighting, etc.).
  3. Conduct maintenance and repair of buildings by undertaking tasks related to electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and other areas: Applies technical building knowledge.
  4. Follow-up on inspections and periodic maintenance of specialized equipment such as fire extinguishers, sprinklers, alarm systems, and ventilation systems: Verifies control and inspection dates by internal and external authorities.
  5. Maintain proper adjustment of heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems: Adjusts temperatures according to changes in the climate.
  6. Maintain relationships with local contractors: Follows up with suppliers on a project-by-project basis.
  7. Maintain tools and machinery and keep inventory: Orders the materials required for work and replaces obsolete equipment.
  8. Plan and distribute work based on the services to be offered: Organizes and prepares materials for the day (based on priorities).
  9. Monitor the maintenance of various vehicles at the center: Reports anomalies for repair.
  10. Related tasks: Performs other tasks at the request of the immediate supervisor.
Your experiences
  1. High school diploma;
  2. Experience in a similar position;
  3. Knowledge of computer-assisted maintenance management systems;
  4. Experience in carpentry, plumbing, and electricity (an asset);
  5. Completed WHMIS training (asset);
  6. ASP certification (asset) or other certification relevant to the position;
  7. Be in excellent physical condition and have good manual dexterity;
  8. Demonstrate initiative;
  9. Have a valid driver’s license.
Your schedule and your benefits

Job Type: permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Schedule: day shift, Monday to Friday – may be required to be “on call” outside of regular working hours
