Job Description

Under the supervision of the Roads Supervisor, the Waste Seasonal Maintenance Worker is responsible for waste collection and maintaining Town property in the Downtown area. The role includes assisting with Special Events setup and takedown, supporting Recreation & Culture activities, and road maintenance tasks such as cold patching, sign installation, and pavement markings.

Job Requirements

1. High School diploma or GED, with knowledge of municipal road maintenance or equivalent experience.
2. Previous municipal waste collection and street maintenance experience.
3. Ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and respond to various situations appropriately.
4. Ability to interpret safety notices, manuals, MSDS, and complete safety logs and incident reports.
5. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, trained in WHMIS, and capable of operating related equipment.
6. Proficiency in operating road maintenance equipment and hand tools.
7. Effective communication skills for dealing courteously with staff, residents, contractors, and the public.
8. Ability to work under adverse weather conditions and meet deadlines.
9. Flexible availability, if required.
10. Valid Class “G” Driver’s License in good standing.
11. Police Vulnerable Sector Check acceptable to the Town.
