Job Description: Maintenance Worker (Part Time) at Extendicare

Join our team at Extendicare as a Maintenance Worker (Part Time). We believe in creating a collaborative environment that fosters growth and celebrates achievements. As a vital part of our maintenance team, you will ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff, providing high-quality care through your expertise and dedication.

This position is based at our Rouge Valley Home in Scarborough, ON.

Responsibilities

1. Perform preventive maintenance and various tasks including PM checks, mechanical operations, building inspections, minor repairs, furniture moving, and grounds maintenance, following Extendicare policies, facility guidelines, trade/CSA legislation, and sanitation procedures.
2. Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and hazardous situations to your supervisor.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
• Technical skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with an older adult population is an asset.
• Strong customer service and resident care skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Willingness to learn new tasks and multi-task effectively.
