Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Maintenance Trainer for the Detour Lake Mine to deliver in-field and classroom instruction and ensure trainees achieve required competencies. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will deliver training aligned with the master training matrix and update curricula as needed.

The role requires a minimum high school diploma, at least five years in underground mining maintenance and two years training experience, plus MTCU modules.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in underground mining maintenance.
• At least 2 years in a training role.
• MTCU modules listed in qualifications.
• Experience with mining equipment and safety procedures.
• Train the Trainer qualification.
• Experience developing training programs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-field and classroom instruction per the training matrix.
• Administer testing to evaluate competency levels.
• Mentor trainees to higher competency levels.
• Review curriculum regularly to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
• Track training progress and produce progress reports.
• Develop curricula aligned to manufacturer specs and standards.
• Stay current with mining operations and equipment changes.
• Ensure adherence to document control and best practices.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of the Maintenance Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Provide in-field and classroom-based instruction in accordance with the master training matrix;

Administer testing material to evaluate competency levels in both theoretical and practical applications;

Assist trainees by providing on-going mentoring to attain higher levels of competencies and skill sets;

Undertake regular reviews of curriculum and update as may be required to ensure effective delivery and adherence to legislation;

Track training progress and training effectiveness;

Provide reports on completed training sessions and individualized trainee progress;

Develop training curriculum related to manufacturer’s specifications and operational/ maintenance procedures, corporate and regulatory standards and objectives;

Stay current with mining operations and changes to equipment and procedures;

Ensure adherence to document control procedures and best practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent;

Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance in an underground mining environment;

At least 2 years of experience in a training capacity;

MTCU Modules U0000, U0001, U0002, and U0012, U0013, U0014; U0033, U0036;

Practical experience with: telehandlers, aerial work platforms, skidsteers, front-end loaders, 0-8 ton mobile cranes, underground personnel carriers (Toyota Landcruiser), overhead cranes, oxy-acetylene cutting equipment, and rigging and hoisting;

Train the Trainer qualification;

Experience developing training programs;

Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
