Job summary

A leading mining company based in Canada is seeking an Overhead Crane Technician to join the Process Plant Maintenance Department. The ideal candidate will possess an inter-provincial trade certificate and have at least 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial or mining environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment issues, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a positive safety culture. Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of related experience in an industrial/mining setting.
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Overhead cranes considered an asset.
  • Experience working at a remote work site is also an asset.
  • Experience with SAP or computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Process Plant Mechanical Supervisor and promote Agnico Eagle's values.
  • Provide mechanical expertise and assist operations with equipment problems.
  • Complete logs and reports regarding overhead cranes.
  • Complete required logs and inspection reports for overhead cranes as per OHSA regulations.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment including small cranes, man lifts and forklifts.
  • Assist in commissioning of new installations and modifications.
  • Analyze maintenance procedures and propose improvements.
  • Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure safety issues are reported and remedied.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and environment.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

  • Reporting to the Process Plant Mechanical Supervisor, you will be part of the Process Plant Maintenance Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Complete specific work orders, providing sufficient detail for co-workers to acknowledge work completion and/or equipment issues;
  • Provide mechanical expertise and apply advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills to assist operations, maintenance and technical personnel in identifying and solving day to day equipment problems;
  • Complete required logs and inspection reports as required with regards to overhead cranes in the OHSA Regulation;
  • Safely operate specific units of mobile equipment including small mobile cranes, man lifts and forklifts;
  • Assist in the commissioning of new installations and modifications;
  • Analyze maintenance procedures and make recommendations to improve effectiveness;
  • Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied;
  • Participate in activities that contribute to the overall achievement of “WorldClass” safety performance where safety is owned and embraced by everyone;
  • Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Inter-provincial trade certificate (Red Seal) or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent trade with relation to overhead crane maintenance;
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Overhead cranes considered as an asset;
  • 5 years’ related experience in an industrial/mining setting;
  • Experience in computer based maintenance system, specifically SAP;
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other traveling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
