Job summary

Source Energy Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Millwright in Peace River, AB. The role covers installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production and facility equipment to support safe, efficient operations.

You’ll perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs, read manuals, and document activities while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certification in Millwright or related trade; 2nd–4th year apprentices considered.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or similar.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills; able to read and interpret technical drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to production equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician/Millwright

Location: Peace River, AB

The Maintenance Technician/Millwright performs a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This role supports safe, efficient operations through preventive and corrective maintenance while contributing to the site’s overall performance and reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to production equipment
• Install, service, and maintain production and plant equipment
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete maintenance tasks
• Diagnose issues, repair or replace parts, test equipment, and make adjustments
• Perform regular maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and material-handling equipment
• Lubricate equipment components (conveyors, gear drives, pumps, motors) according to schedules and OEM specifications
• Identify and report defective equipment or unusual conditions
• Fabricate parts for repairs and equipment upgrades as needed
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
• Communicate effectively with production teams regarding maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
• Support cross-training and assist in other roles as needed
• Promote a positive company image while performing duties
• Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Journeyperson certification in Millwright or a related trade required. Will consider 2 nd to 4 th year Apprentices.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (oil & gas, manufacturing, or similar)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Familiarity with CMMS systems is an asset
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol and physical testing
• Valid driver’s license with clean drivers abstract required
