Job summary

Source Energy Services is seeking a Parts Technician to manage and dispense parts inventories, handling day-to-day stock duties and CMMS implementation. You will support the maintenance team, process orders, and maintain inventory accuracy on site in Grande Prairie.

The role requires strong attention to detail, CMMS experience, and reliable communication to ensure timely delivery of parts for shop and field repairs. On-site work with standard weekday hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in a similar role within heavy equipment or industrial settings.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; able to work through problems without standard processes.
• Experience with CMMS programs and inventory management.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Order parts for shop and field repairs, including mobile machinery and trailer equipment.
• Use the PO request system to purchase parts and supplies.
• Track orders, delivery dates and on-site arrival schedules.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to identify parts for preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory levels and reorder as needed.
• Obtain quotes from vendors and recommend purchasing options based on cost, quality, and timing.
• Coordinate with vendors for pickup and ensure timely delivery.
• Utilize CMMS to track maintenance, parts and scheduling of resources.
• Assist updating parts documentation and CMMS records.

Job Title: Parts Technician

The Parts Technician manages and dispenses parts inventories, and is responsible for the day-to-day stock handling, identifying and cataloguing of parts and assemblies, ordering, receiving, inspecting, and sorting of parts. They will also help enter and close out work orders along with the overall implementation of the CMMS program. This position is an addition to our current Maintenance/Parts team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Order parts for the shop and field repairs. Includes mobile machinery, truck and trailer and specialized equipment.
• Use the company's PO request system to purchase parts and supplies.
• Record and monitor parts that are on order, expected delivery and arrival on site dates;
• Coordinate with the site maintenance team for required parts and what needs to be ordered for preventive and reactive maintenance;
• Responsible for parts inventory and ensure parts inventory are at required levels;
• Request quotes from parts vendors and evaluate and recommendations on where to purchase parts considering economics, quality of parts, and expected timeline
• Coordinate with vendors and arrange pick up of parts as needed;
• Follow up on parts order and do necessary coordination to ensure timely delivery of parts to site;
• Utilize company CMMS program to accurately track maintenance, parts, and scheduling of all related resources/assets.
• Interpreting information from the field to determine required parts/components. Able to source parts from incomplete or non-existent resources.
• Assist in updating company parts documentation along with CMMS records.
• Perform other general functions as may be requested;

Who We're Looking For:

• Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in a similar role within a heavy equipment, industrial process, or truck and trailer environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Able to work through problems without standard processes already in place.
• Past experience with CMMS program(s).
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Self-starter with the ability to proactively manage workload;
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
• Able to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol and fit suitability testing
• Class 5 Driver's License with clean driving record. This must be presented as part of the application process.
