Job summary

Accent Inns Kamloops is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Full Time) to join our friendly team. This entry‑level role is perfect for someone handy who wants to grow skills in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting and more within a welcoming, family‑owned hotel environment.

You will help with a variety of maintenance tasks, address guest needs, coordinate with the IT team for systems, and participate in preventive maintenance and safety programs. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Entry Level Role - No experience required.
• Weekend availability is required.
• Driver's license is an asset.
• General understanding of IT hardware and software.
• Understanding of major equipment, minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of maintenance and construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, HVAC PM, painting, and minor plumbing.
• Address guest needs/requests, like electronics, sink/plumbing, lighting and locks.
• Work with IT team to ensure systems are maintained and functioning accordingly.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, winterization, painting, power washing, and other site tasks.
• Support safety programs and schedule PM work with contractors per service agreements.

What You Do

• Entry level maintenance role - perfect for someone handy that wants to further their skills with an awesome team to learn from!
• Nail it performing a variety of maintenance and construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, HVAC PM, painting, and minor plumbing
• Addressing guest needs/requests, like electronic equipment, sink and toilet plumbing, light bulb changes and entry locks access.
• Work with our IT team, to ensure that all systems and maintained and functioning accordingly
• Work with management team to perform a verity of Preventive maintenance tasks, including winterization of buildings, painting of rooms and hallways, power washing of exterior, steam cleaning of carpets, auguring of plumbing, curb repairs, fence repairs and finishing, furniture maintenance and upkeep.
• Keep us safe by following and implementing WCB standards and championing our SWPs and internal safety program
• Assist in maintaining gardens, landscaping, and building exteriors
• Keep us on track by scheduling quarterly, bi-annual, and yearly PM work with partnering contractors as per our service agreements

What You Need

• Entry Level Role - No experience required
• Weekend availability is required

• The ability to work both independently and in a team setting
• First aid certification (an asset)
• A general understanding of IT hardware and software
• An understanding of major equipment, minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC or the willingness to learn.
• High level problem solving

• General knowledge of SWP and safety standards
