Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor will support production via projects, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. With the help of team members, they will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to ensure the company’s goals and objectives are met. The role will be based at a facility in Saint John, New Brunswick, where the culture emphasizes accountability, humility, and owning up to mistakes to learn and improve.

Reports to : Plant Manager

Communicates With :

  • VP / General Manager
  • Operational Manager
  • All On-Site Employees

Technical Skills / Attributes :

  • 3-5 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of CNC Machines would be an asset.

  • Time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to accept direction, instructions, and work with others.

Levels of Authority : Expenditures up to $1000 (CAD).

Job Tasks :

  • Knowledge and support of Company Quality Standards.
  • Knowledge and support of Company Safety and Environmental Practices.
  • Support production via projects, maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Prepare daily maintenance schedules with the support of the lead hand.
  • Manage and maintain a preventive maintenance system to keep all day-to-day operations running smoothly.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and security standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist in contracting and supervising contractors during installations, repairs, or maintenance (electricians, plumbers, etc.).
  • Contribute to the development of the budget and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in project coordination, implementation, and commissioning (e.g., renovations, maintenance, and / or CAR projects).
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections of all equipment, including mechanical and electrical.
  • Perform other duties as required.
