Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise the completion of maintenance work by tradespersons and contractors. They will oversee inspections and repairs of equipment, perform regular inspections and audits to ensure equipment health, and ensure their team meets safety objectives and adheres to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate subcontracted services and maintenance personnel, assign work orders, and deliver safety briefings and work instructions.
2. Ensure trades are adequately trained and equipped; track training activities; ensure crews have the correct equipment and training.
3. Document maintenance activities properly and create work orders for equipment and system deficiencies.
4. Understand the function and operation of equipment under their responsibility and support the crew with technical knowledge.
5. Review equipment operations and safety standards; perform regular area tours to ensure proper functioning.
6. Ensure tradespersons comply with safety policies and procedures; review policies with them; perform field audits for compliance.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or college diploma (industrial electrician, industrial mechanic, heavy-duty mechanic, instrumentation technician) required.
• Preferred certifications include Project Management Professional, Certified Planner, CADD, CNC, vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, acoustic emissions, electrical equipment testing, non-destructive testing, online equipment monitoring, power generation, HVAC.
• Ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems; proficiency with J D Edwards E1 is an advantage.
• Maintenance supervisor or planner experience is preferred.
• Experience in industrial maintenance supervision/management across electrical, mechanical, mobile, instrumentation, facilities, or reliability; supervising multiple skills is a plus.
