The Maintenance Leader - Supervisor assumes the role of a technical leader and has overall responsibility of the maintenance team for ensuring timely and quality repair of equipment, execution of preventative maintenance and plant machinery to minimize downtime for safe and efficient operation. The incumbent of this position will also provide direction to third-party contractors and work with the company's maintenance team to ensure necessary support for the bakery. The role takes initiatives to ensure operations are in compliance with safety standards and environmental practices.

Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and train new team members and empower the maintenance team.Assess contractor skill requirements and liaise with contractors to provide assistance needed.
- Own maintenance deliverables as assigned within the planning, assessment, installation and testing of new equipment, methods and/or products.
- Use information tools to look for opportunities to improve line efficiency, trends, and drive bakery priorities. Track and eliminate causes of downtime. Lead smaller scope process improvements to achieve specific measurable goals.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment failures.
- Direct and lead maintenance staff in everyday scheduling, preventative maintenance, repair of all production equipment and resolve equipment related issues.
- Maintain equipment and parts inventory using available resources to continuously minimize downtime and organize Maintenance Workshop.
- Provide technical leadership necessary to ensure the service and installation meets or exceeds objectives.
- Ensure PM program is robust and is updated regularly with changing equipment and company standards.
- Comply with our Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan and SQF Level 2 certification requirements.
- Establish and maintain a positive and cooperative environment for employees through effective communications between work teams, shifts and other functional areas.
- Support Bakery Team Leader in submitting Capitol Requests and work with Engineering to ensure proper pricing and scope of work is correct on submissions.
- Ensure all aspects of equipment maintenance meet food safety standards.
- Schedule and supervise major equipment repairs, overhauls, and rebuilding to ensure that it is fully operational and safe to operate and within schedule requirements.
- Monitors and reports on the site’s environmental conditions and practices and recommends actions for improvements and conformity.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering or College Diploma (DEC) in a technical field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience managing and supervising maintenance in a production facility (food preferred).
- Conduct work with integrity, abiding and upholding the Code of Conduct and Company Core Values (Integrity, Commitment, Courage and Growth).
- Solid skills in mechanics and electrics.
- Familiarity with automated process/packaging technology is an asset.
- Experience working in a computerized preventative maintenance program an asset.
- Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook and experience with ERP/BPCS systems).
- A decision maker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A leader with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills who interacts easily with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team.
