Starting Pay Rate:$24.00 per hour


Job Description

  • Supervise and participate in maintenance activities and special projects at the Hotel and atoffsite staff accommodation buildings
  • Train maintenance workersto perform their work while following safe work practices
  • Lead morning maintenance team meetings
  • Create, update, and revise work orders and daily and weekly job plans and assign tasks to maintenance workers
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other hotel departments
  • Audit work performed by maintenance workers
  • Manage part/tool/equipment inventories
  • Assist with pool and hot tub maintenance and operation
  • Be an active member of the Hotel Emergency Response Team

Qualifications

  • Basic maintenance skills required (plumbing, carpentry, painting)
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledgeof pumps, fans, vehicles, machines
  • Previous experience as a maintenance team supervisor with an aptitude and interest in teaching and sharing knowledge
  • Previous experience working in a hotel an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong and responsible problem-solving skills
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Good computers skills (typing, data entry, email)
  • Valid drivers license

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
