Job summary

Saputo Inc. in Canada is seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to coordinate and schedule maintenance across our facilities. You will plan preventative maintenance, manage manpower, and liaise with planners to deliver safe, efficient work orders.

The role requires a technical qualification, strong Excel, CMMS/SAP experience, and Lean Six Sigma knowledge. You will backfill maintenance backlogs, generate KPIs, and support emergency work while upholding safety and food-safety standards.

Qualifications

• A Technical qualification or Trade Ticket.
• Excellent with advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in Planning and scheduling in the food industry is considered an asset.
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional is considered an asset.
• Knowledgeable about Lean Six Sigma processes and terminology.
• Experience with safe work practices, such as JHA, confined spaces, job task permitting, etc.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as FIIX, SAP.

Responsibilities

• Determines available manpower in conjunction with maintenance Planner and vacation schedules.
• Determines priority of work using the Risk Assessment Method (RAM) provided by Planner.
• Creates both weekly and daily schedules based on work planned by Planner.
• Determines equipment availability in conjunction with operations scheduling.
• Coordinates with the Maintenance team and other stakeholders for scheduling and execution of tasks.
• Develops weekly and shutdown schedules as required.
• Balances labor resources and priorities.
• Manages maintenance backlog.
• Coordinates and schedules work for all third parties’ activities and contractors.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are tracked and documented.
• Communicates equipment and job order status to appropriate people and departments.
• Communicate regularly with management about the status of maintenance activities.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure understanding of the schedule.
• Generates Maintenance reports and KPIs.
• Respect the organization’s policies, applicable laws, and ensure work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Work closely with the material coordinator to align strategies for best inventory management of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment.
• Support emergency maintenance requests as needed.
• Understanding and adhering to all safety & food safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties performed as assigned.
