Job summary

Trans Mountain Corporation seeks a Manager, Maintenance and Reliability to lead safe, reliable maintenance at the Burnaby and Westridge terminals.

You will develop preventive maintenance plans, optimize asset availability, lead a technical team, and drive KPI-based improvements.

This role reports to the Director, Burnaby and Westridge Terminal Operations and offers a career within a Crown corporation committed to safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering with related maintenance planning/reliability improvement experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance planning, reliability, and asset management experience in oil and gas; terminals/pipelines/marine facilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in maintenance, operations, or asset management within oil and gas, terminal, or pipeline industry.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles, systems, and processes, including High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze maintenance performance metrics and drive improvements via planning, reliability programs, and KPI management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; balance day-to-day needs with long-term maintenance improvements.
  • Experience facilitating Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) programs is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical direction and leadership within Burnaby and Westridge operations regarding maintenance work and process optimization.
  • Assess and implement reliability tools for equipment failure root cause analysis and create long-term improvement plans for high productivity with minimal downtime.
  • Develop and track maintenance KPI's; propose maintenance learning and improvement plans for a high reliability organization.
  • Budgeting and forecasting of maintenance and capital budgets for maintenance programs.
  • Provide coaching and support to maintenance supervision and their teams to build a high reliability culture.
  • Ensure investigations of reliability-related incidents to determine root cause and sustainable improvements.
  • Provide SME guidance on maintenance within the broader operations team; maintain ISLMS documentation.
