Job summary

Kelly Services in Mississauga, Ontario, is hiring Maintenance Mechanics to support several food manufacturing facilities in Mississauga, Vaughan and Woodbridge. This role focuses on hands-on mechanical work to keep production running smoothly.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with production teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operations across rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs.
• Mechanical training or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with packaging, processing, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, or fabrication considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, modify, and maintain machinery and equipment in processing and packaging environments.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and provide effective, timely solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and major equipment overhauls.
• Operate machine shop equipment including drill presses, grinders, and saws.
• Assist with equipment setup, takedown, and relocation.
• Support production teams with equipment troubleshooting and changeovers.
• Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and toolbox.
• Complete electronic shift reports and work orders using CMMS (SAP).
• Order and track parts and support inventory management activities.
• Participate in shift handovers, health & safety meetings, and ongoing training.
• Follow GMP, Health & Safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Work flexibly across shifts and locations as required.

About The Role

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll provide mechanical support across processing, packaging, and facility operations. You'll troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and work closely with production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant.

Shift & Pay

• Rotating continental shifts (either 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am or 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am, depending on location)
• Pay rate: $38.00 - $48.00 per hour, based on experience
• Shift premiums:
  • +$1.00/hr for night shifts
  • +$2.00/hr for weekend shifts
