Job summary

Lantic Inc. in Taber, Alberta, is recruiting a Maintenance Manager for our Taber Processing Plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead maintenance staff, ensure equipment reliability, and drive Best Maintenance Practices to maximize safety, efficiency and waste reduction.

You will manage planning, scheduling, and execution of overhauls, monitor CMMS performance, and collaborate with the leadership team to improve plant ops while maintaining a strong safety culture and cost discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical/mechanical engineering is advantageous.
  • Red Seal and management experience are valuable assets.
  • Strong leadership and safety-critical mindset.
  • Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the maintenance team to meet reliability targets.
  • Drive Best Maintenance Practices and continuous improvement.

Lantic is c urrently recruiting for the position of Maintenance Manager, located at its Taber Processing Plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager supports and directs the maintenance staff, the production equipment, and building structure with a focus on accountability, reliability, efficiency, and waste reduction through Best Maintenance Practices.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL:
  • Ensure compliance with Heath, Safety, and Environmental regulations and requirements with the objective of zero harm;
  • Oversee the continuous improvement of site equipment, systems, and infrastructure;
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of Best Maintenance Practices, inventory processes, standard inspection programs, and predictive/preventative maintenance programs;
  • Lead and support the implementation of the Electrical Safety Program and ensure ongoing compliance;
  • Monitor Maintenance KPIs and any related corrective action;
  • Ensure the timely completion of safety corrective actions and incident investigations;
  • Ensure the effective utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of equipment overhauls and rebuilds to ensure the plant and supporting systems (including WWTP and Plus 1) remain safe, operational, and within schedule requirements;
  • Collaborate with the management team to improve plant operations and maintenance in regard to safety, quality, cost efficiency, and resource conservation;
  • Drive the continuous reduction of overall plant downtime through the effective use of available resources and maintenance strategies;
  • Manage the annual maintenance budget and 5-year Capitol plan to maximize plant performance and reliability;
  • Lead training, development, and succession planning for the Maintenance department;
  • Promote and support Lantic's Mission and Values through effective leadership;
  • Provide coverage for various Managers and Supervisors as required;
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and change management mindset;
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO JOIN THE TEAM:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering would be considered an asset;
  • Red Seal trade certification combined with minimum five (5) years' relevant management experience would be considered as an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Minimum of five (5)-ten (10) years maintenance management experience in a production environment, preferably within a food production facility;
  • Knowledge and familiarity with automated process and packaging technology is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs as well as Project Management would be considered an asset;
  • Experience in structured Maintenance Planning and Scheduling process with a CMMS system, Maximo preferred;
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational, and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets;
  • Passion to manage large trades teams in a safe and effective manner.
