Job summary

Lassonde Beverages Canada in Toronto is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance strategy, reliability, safety and continuous improvement across the plant. You will build strong teams, implement CMMS, develop KPIs and training, and partner with Production, Quality and Engineering to maximize uptime and asset performance.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role fosters accountability and professional development to support Lassonde’s North American growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a maintenance leadership role in food/beverage or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Industrial Electrician License 442A and/or Industrial Millwright 433A are assets.
  • Strong background in maintenance systems, reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading change management and building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Strong computer skills and CMMS proficiency.
  • Experience with data analysis and maintenance KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic directions to maintenance by overseeing planning, PM and reliability pillars.
  • Drive proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and accountability.
  • Develop, monitor and analyze maintenance KPIs to improve uptime.
  • Audit maintenance work for safety, quality and timeliness.
  • Facilitate problem solving for technical issues and advanced problems.
  • Conduct competency assessments and identify skill development opportunities.
  • Develop structured training programs and development plans.
  • Work with CMMS and audit work orders for accuracy.
  • Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Production, Quality, Safety and Engineering.
  • Participate in recruitment, evaluation and onboarding of maintenance staff.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure health, safety and GMP compliance.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety and regulatory requirements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, passionate and result-driven Maintenance Manager to join our Lassonde Beverages Canada facility in Toronto, reporting to the Plant Manager. This role will focus on strategic leadership, change management, operational excellence and team development. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader who can build maintenance systems, improve workforce competencies, implement best practices, and drive a culture of accountability, reliability, safety, quality and continuous improvement.

This individual will play a key role in modernizing maintenance operations and bringing the department to the next level through leadership, training, and process optimization.

Key activities
  • Provide strategic directions to the maintenance department by overseeing all aspects of maintenance planning, continuous improvement initiatives and preventative maintenance (PM) pillar to ensure a reliable maintenance system and maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Develop, drive, monitor, and analyze maintenance KPIs to measure department performance, identify trends, and implement actions that improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall maintenance effectiveness.
  • Audit the quality of maintenance work to ensure that maintenance and repair work is completed effectively, safely and in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate problem solving to help resolve technical issues and provide support on advanced technical problems
  • Conduct competency assessments and skill gap analyses to identify skill development opportunities within the maintenance team.
  • Develop structured training programs and technical development plans for maintenance staff.
  • Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and conduct work order analysis as well as audit the system to ensure accuracy.
  • Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with Production, Quality, Safety and Engineering teams.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for maintenance staff, provide input on candidate evaluations, and support the effective onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance department and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
Required training and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role in food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Industrial Electrician License 442A and/or Industrial Millwright Mechanic License 433A is an asset.
  • Strong technical background in maintenance systems, reliability, troubleshooting and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading change management initiatives and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including design, use, repair and maintenance.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience with data analysis and maintenance KPI’s.
