Job summary

Lantic Inc. in Taber, Alberta is seeking a Temporary Seasonal Piling Ground Supervisor to oversee the Picture Butte receiving station during the sugar beet harvest.

You will supervise daily operations, lead seasonal employees, and ensure safe, efficient receiving and storage of beets. Working closely with the Site Agriculturist, you will provide training, coordinate staffing, support safety initiatives, and assist with beet pile management throughout the campaign.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with skid steer or forklift is a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays during campaign periods.
• Additional certifications or training may be required.

Lantic is seeking a Temporary Seasonal Piling Ground Supervisor to oversee Picture Butte receiving station operations during the sugar beet harvest. This position is responsible for supervising the daily operation of the receiving station, leading and supporting seasonal employees, and ensuring the safe and efficient receiving and storage of sugar beets. Working closely with the Site Agriculturist, this role provides training, coordinates staffing requirements, supports safety initiatives, and assists with sugar beet pile management throughout the beet harvest season.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Skid steer and forklift experience are considered assets.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays during campaign periods.
• Additional certifications or training may be required.

Working Conditions

• Work in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, dusty, windy, and noisy environments.
• Work outdoors around agricultural operations and sugar beet storage areas.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 kg, and working in physically demanding conditions.
