Job summary

Lantic Inc. is recruiting for the permanent position of Quality Technician based at our Vancouver Refinery. This role conducts sample collection and analysis to ensure products meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will support HACCP and food safety programs, work with multiple departments, and uphold GMP and safety requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Technology or Engineering or related Science field.
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in a food process, quality assurance or related industry laboratory.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GFSI-recognized schemes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (intermediate to advanced).
  • Knowledge of Maximo, Navision, ERP and/or SharePoint is an asset.
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • Must be available to work shift times between 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, typically Monday to Friday. Some weekend may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Sample products and perform all tests required to generate Certificates of Analysis on a daily basis.
  • Sample and test environmental effluents to support compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Perform routine calibration, verification, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Put non-conforming products on hold and support appropriate product disposition.
  • Investigate product and process non-conformance, document findings, assist with root cause analysis, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, shipping warehouse and other departments to address quality concerns and support continuous improvement.
  • Respond to customers’ technical inquiries.
  • Perform routine GMP and facility inspections and follow up on identified deficiencies with the appropriate departments.
  • Participate in the HACCP team and support the maintenance, verification and continuous improvement of the HACCP, food safety program, and GMP.
  • Maintain a clean laboratory environment, while following GMP, food safety and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Perform any other QA / QC activities when required.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:

Lantic is currently recruiting for the permanent position of Quality Technician based at our Vancouver Refinery. This position performs a variety of functions including sample collection of in-process and final products, chemical, physical and microbial analysis, environmental sampling and testing, and Certificates of Analysis generation to ensure products meet established quality, food safety, customer and regulatory requirements.

The position also supports the facility’s Quality and Food Safety Management system through non-conformance investigations, product hold activities, participating in the HACCP program, data analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate is a safety-conscious, detail-oriented, self-motivated team member who can work independently while collaborating effectively with Production, Maintenance, Shipping, Warehouse, and other departments.
