Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will lead the development and implementation of the overall maintenance program for manufacturing and packaging equipment. Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Reliability Director, this position will collaborate with plant and business leaders to improve maintenance effectiveness and efficiency, increase machine reliability, and reduce downtime.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Develop and implement agile activities, new techniques, and methodologies to drive reliability and improvement within the maintenance function.
• Serve as a change agent for maintenance reliability initiatives by promoting cultural transformation and continuous improvement practices.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration.
• Establish roadmaps, work standards, and best practices to eliminate operational waste.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance systems, processes, and procedures.
• Establish and manage key metrics to ensure maintenance programs are adequately executed and performant.
• Optimize reporting tools and methods for operational KPIs.

Ensure effective and timely communication of best practices and key learnings.

• Manage monthly cost tracking activities to stay within budget.
• Supervise and coordinate cleaning and maintenance tasks across manufacturing, packaging, laboratory, and warehouse areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or Operational Excellence environments.
• Hands-on experience applying lean maintenance concepts.
• Exceptional leadership, change management, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop people.
• Adaptability and stress management skills.
• Knowledge of local and international regulations, quality, and security systems.
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken), as collaboration with suppliers and clients outside Quebec is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SAP.
