Job summary

Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts (CRMR) is hiring a Maintenance Labourer to support the upkeep of our lodge properties in the Banff area. You will perform a wide range of repairs and groundskeeping tasks, ensuring safety and guest comfort across our mountain lodges.

This role requires hands-on experience in carpentry, drywall, painting, and basic electrical or plumbing work, plus the ability to work in varying weather and shifts. Join a team that values safety, collaboration, and quality service.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Experience in carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.
  • Basic electrical, plumbing, or tiling skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to perform maintenance tasks and troubleshoot issues.
  • Commitment to safety standards and learning new skills.
  • Capable of working in various weather conditions and shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily maintenance duties as directed by the maintenance leadership team.
  • Perform drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, tiling, minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Conduct groundskeeping and snow removal with tools and machinery.
  • Operate equipment safely, including snow blowers and power tools.
  • Handle shipping/receiving, unload deliveries, manage waste.
  • Maintain guest rooms and respond to related issues.
  • Record tasks and participate in safety meetings.

Maintenance Labourer

The Maintenance Labourer is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks at our lodge, ensuring the upkeep and smooth operation of the property. This role requires a hands-on approach to building maintenance, repairs, renovations, and grounds keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily duties assigned by maintenance leadership team.
  • Perform various building maintenance tasks including drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, tiling, minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Conduct groundskeeping and snow removal using hand tools and machinery.
  • Operate equipment safely, such as snow blowers, front-end loaders, and power tools.
  • Manage shipping and receiving duties, including unloading deliveries and handling waste.
  • Perform maintenance in guest rooms and respond to related complaints.
  • Conduct routine property and system checks, reporting any issues.
  • Handle chemicals safely for maintenance purposes (e.g., hot tub, sewage plant).
  • Drive the guest shuttle outside of Bell hours if needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow the CRMR Employee Handbook and grooming policies.
  • Record daily tasks and participate in safety meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance manager.
Requirements / Experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in basic carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.
  • Skills in electrical, plumbing, or tiling are advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and troubleshoot problems.
  • Commitment to safety standards and learning new skills (firefighting equipment, chemical handling, etc.).
  • Capability to work in various weather conditions and shift patterns.
  • Ability to work independently and handle physical demands such as lifting (up to 80 pounds) and climbing ladders.
