Job summary

Rimrock Banff is seeking a Maintenance Worker to uphold the appearance, safety, and functionality of our luxury hotel across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and grounds.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will perform regular inspections, handle repairs, assist with seasonal grounds, and support a safety-first culture.

This full-time role requires Alberta licensure and the ability to work in a dynamic resort environment; comprehensive benefits and staff housing may be available.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in building maintenance.
  • Basic mechanical ability, including knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Comfort working within structured systems, standards, and procedures.
  • Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence and clear abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular checks of public areas including hallways, lobby, restaurants, and washrooms.
  • Inspect lighting, exit signage, doors, walls, ceilings, and flooring for condition and operability.
  • Perform repairs such as light bulb replacement, painting, door adjustments, and minor surface repairs.
  • Interact professionally with guests in public and guest-facing areas.
  • Complete guest room maintenance tasks including plumbing, furniture adjustments, touch-ups, drywall repairs, and painting.

At Rimrock Banff, wedon’tjustmaintainspaces,we care for the places where moments happen.The Maintenance Worker plays a critical hands-on role inmaintainingthe appearance, safety, and functionality of the hotel. Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer, you will support daily maintenance operations across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and grounds.

What You'll Be Doing

Public Areas & Guest Spaces

  • Conduct regular checks of public areas including hallways, lobby, restaurants, and washrooms.
  • Inspect lighting, exit signage, doors, walls, ceilings, and flooring for condition and operability.
  • Perform repairs such as light bulb replacement, painting, door adjustments, and minor surface repairs.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with guests while working in public and guest-facing areas.

Guest Room Maintenance

  • Complete guest room maintenance tasks including: plumbing and drain operability, furniture adjustments and minor repairs, paint touch-ups,groutand sealant replacement, minor drywall repairs and wall painting, clear drains, tighten loose fixtures or appliances, and ensure rooms meet established quality standards.

Grounds & Exterior Maintenance

Support seasonal grounds maintenance including: snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and plow trucks, grass cutting, weed removal, planting, watering, and trimming, hanging andmaintainingplants and floral displays

Maintain exterior spaces to reflect Rimrock’s luxury and safety standards year-round.

  • Monitor swimming pools and other bodies of water, including dailytesting and chemical balancing.
  • Support pool, sauna, and related equipment maintenance.
  • Assistwith basic heating and cooling checks and troubleshooting.
  • Report irregularities or concerns to Engineering leadership promptly.
  • Move and relocate furniture, appliances, and equipment asrequired.
  • Install pictures, fixtures, and furnishings.
  • Remove garbage, recycling, and construction debris safely.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the maintenance shop and workspaces.

Safety, Standards & Compliance

  • Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Work within established procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Handle chemicals and controlled substances safely and responsibly.
  • Support a safety-first culture through attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
Qualifications

What You Bring

Physical Demands

  • Significant walking and standing.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10kg / 22lbs.
  • Occasionallifting upto 23kg / 50lbs.
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, stretching, reaching, twisting.
  • Use of stools and ladders.
  • Exposure to chemicals and controlled substances.
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors, including enclosed spaces.

Visa Requirements:Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The hotel is unable toassistcandidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
