Job summary

Conifer Energy Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator for our North-West Alberta operations. Reporting to the Foreman, you will oversee field/plant maintenance activities, ensuring safety, cost-efficiency and reliability.

Candidates should have at least five years in production field operations or gas plant maintenance, valid driver’s license, Alberta One Call familiarity, and ability to manage crews and budgets in a dynamic oil and gas environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of production field operator and/or gas plant experience.
  • Alberta One Call administrative skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of CSA Z662, B31.3 and piping/welding specs; training available.
  • POMM and PEIM training.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize field/plant maintenance activities and prioritize tasks within budget.
  • Direct field crews and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
  • Respond to unplanned events and emergencies, coordinate with operations.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance and manage contractor tickets and costs.
  • Support budget development and cost verification with engineering.

Job description

Conifer Energy is a sustainability-focused energy company, which utilizes a synthesis of conventional systems and novel industrial processes to deliver increased carbon, waste and energy-efficiency in hydrocarbon extraction, refining and end-use.

We are seeking an experiencedMaintenance Coordinator for our operations in the North-West area. Reporting to the Foreman, Maintenance, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience and will be responsible for ensuring field/plant maintenance activities are conducted in the most cost-effective and efficient manner and in alignment with a high degree of safety and environmental awareness.

Preference will be given to those candidates who reside in the Whitecourt/Swan Hills area (within 100 kms of the facilities or be willing to relocate).

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
  • Responsible for the optimization of activities through procedures and task preparation/prioritization
  • Emphasis is placed on finding innovative ways to complete the tasks at the lowest possible cost with a minimal amount of unplanned downtime
  • Direction of field/plant maintenance crews in North-West oil and gas operations
  • Ability to set priorities over various operating areas ensuring highest priority activities are completed in a timely manner and within budget
  • Respond to unplanned situations such as pipeline failures, surface land issues, seasonal conditions and other unplanned events
  • Maintain a balance of work between general field maintenance activities and small projects such as preparing PSV vessels for inspections and underground/surface tank integrity checks
  • Ensure follow through of safety/high-priority maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Field contact for Alberta One Call requests and ensure that line locates are completed as required
  • Road repair/maintenance as required/requested in conjunction with the operations group
  • Respond to after-hour emergencies providing support to operations as requested
  • Provide on-site direction and ensure effective time management of contract crews
  • Ensure emergency or non-routine events are reported to the Supervisor in a timely manner
Administration
  • Monitor field crew overtime coverage based on priorities and expected future workload
  • Administration of line crossing and road use agreements ensuring the needs of both Conifer and other users in the area are met
  • Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance activities are completed and filed
  • Approve contractor daily tickets ensuring proper coding and challenging costs
  • Schedule crews for weekly meter proving and screen cleanouts for the E/I department
  • Offer assistance to quality control and integrity personnel within the engineering department to ensure requirements/documentation are met
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies; understanding of ABSA/AER inspection, quality control and compliance with the assistance of the engineering group
  • Assist with developing the operating budget
  • Manage field verification, code invoices, track costs
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum five years of production field operator and/or gas plant experience is an asset
  • Intermediate software and applicable internal oil & gas application knowledge
  • Ground disturbance training and experience, preferred
  • Alberta One Call administrative skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CSA Z662, B31.3, Conifer piping and welding specifications) will be required, training can be provided if necessary
  • POMM and PEIM training
  • Pipefitting experience/ticket an asset
