Job summary

Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. is seeking a Contract Field Operator for the Sundre South area to join an active field operations team.

The successful candidate will report to the Foreman and reside within a 30-minute drive from Sundre, Alberta, and will perform routine field operations with a focus on HSE standards and cost-effective practices. Responsibilities include monitoring wells and facilities, maintaining production records, coordinating shut downs, supporting maintenance and safety programs,

Qualifications

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
  • Minimum 5 years oil & gas battery / gas plant operating experience.
  • Valid Grade 12 diploma and driver’s license.
  • Strong organization and communication skills; adherence to safety rules.
  • Experience with safety and environmental policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor sweet and sour wells, facilities and production equipment.
  • Communicate and prioritize field operation requirements.
  • Determine and communicate production problems to support personnel.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including downtime and water injection reports.
  • Coordinate shut down and startup of wells for well servicing.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Maintain daily log sheets.
  • Assist with engineering strategies to optimize production.
  • Provide troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to fellow operators.
  • Assist with coordinating chemical programs and corrosion monitoring.

Role Overview

Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. is currently accepting applications for a Contract Field Operator for our Sundre South Area. Reporting to the Foreman, the successful applicant will be part of an active team environment responsible for routine field operations. The work schedule will be determined depending on the needs of the operation. The successful candidate will be expected to reside within a 30-minute drive from the Town of Sundre.

The Field Operator position is responsible for maintaining the field to high health, safety and environmental standards while operating in a cost-effective manner. This position will be required to operate any combination of sweet and sour oil and gas wells / batteries / gas compression / water injection facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor sweet and sour wells, facilities and production equipment
  • Communicate and prioritize field operation requirements
  • Determine and communicate production problems to support personnel
  • Maintain accurate production records, including downtime, chemical & water injection reports
  • Coordinate shut down and startup of wells for well servicing
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings
  • Maintain daily log sheets
  • Assist with engineering strategies to optimize production
  • Offer trouble shooting and preventative maintenance to fellow operators
  • Assist with coordinating the chemical program and corrosion monitoring program, including coupons and water analysis
  • Promote Pine Cliff’s safety and environmental programs and monitor related issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions
  • A minimum of 5 years oil & gas battery / gas plant operating experience
  • A valid Grade 12 diploma
  • A valid passport and Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Excellent organization skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Complete working knowledge of plant, corporate safety and environmental rules, procedures and policies
  • Excellent decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with software programs such as Muddy Boots and Data Works considered an asset
  • Current and up to date safety training including First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive and TDG/WHMIS.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who hold a current Fired Process Heater Operator Certificate of Competency or a Fourth-Class Power Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
