Job summary

Smart AMS Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator in Barrie, ON to coordinate aircraft maintenance activities, maintain records, and manage internal and external stakeholders. The role requires a TC AME license (M1/M2), CARs knowledge, and strong organizational skills.

You will oversee scheduling, inventory, and safety compliance, while training staff and implementing maintenance procedures. This full-time position offers competitive wages and flexible hours in a dynamic MRO environment.

Qualifications

  • TC AME license with M1 or M2.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, Airworthiness Directives, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Air Regulations (CARs).
  • Proven experience in maintenance coordination or a similar role in a commercial/industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and external contractors/suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to maintenance operations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and meet physical demands of walking, climbing, bending.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and installations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and service reports.
  • Source and manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers for maintenance services and supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact on operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address maintenance-related issues.
  • Train and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in maintenance management.

  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.
