Jardeg-Construction seeks a Journeyperson Machinist for the CNRL Albian maintenance project near Fort McMurray, Alberta. The role requires operating precision equipment and following exact specifications. This permanent position starts as early as November 3rd with day shifts on a 7/7 schedule.

Camp accommodations are provided. Flights from Edmonton and Calgary are included. The team supports long‑standing work at the Albian site with a strong safety and quality focus.

Qualifications

• Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification.
• Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.
• Valid non-restricted Driver’s License and a clean 3 Year Driver's Abstract.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul & maintain various types of large open cut mining equipment.
• Perform onsite line boring operations and surface milling procedures on all makes and models of open cut - mining equipment.
• Workshop and field-based machining operations on a wide variety of earth moving components to tight tolerances (such as +/- .0005” in most cases).
• I.D bore welding and bore reclamation; face build ups and machining to OEM specifications.
• Onsite maintenance including but not limited to: Caterpillar & Komatsu haul trucks, track dozers, graders, front end loaders, excavators and shovels.

Jardeg is recruiting a Journeyperson Machinist to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. team at the CNRL Albian site near Fort McMurray, Alberta for a permanent position starting as early as November 3rd. This position will be a day shift on a 7/7 schedule. Flights are provided from Edmonton and Calgary.

Machinists set up and operate precision metal cutting (line boring) machining equipment to make and repair products made from metals on heavy mining equipment. They work according to very precise specifications. When there are no prints or other specifications, they determine dimensions by logic or by measuring samples using instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Electronic instruments have digital readouts and require the operator to program them for use.

To perform a typical machining task, Machinists:

• Study specifications, charts, drawings or sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed,
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances and prepare working sketches if necessary,
• Measure and mark metal and other materials,
• Set up and operate tools, which may be computer numerically controlled, to perform precision machining operations, and,
• Fit parts to mechanisms and verify dimensions.

Responsibilities:

• Experience operating CLIMAX tooling and CLIMAX line boring equipment.
• Line Boring experience including bore build-up.
• Mobile field machining experience.
• Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09) Certification.

• Valid non-restricted Driver’s License and a clean 3 Year Driver's Abstract.
