Job summary

Jardeg is recruiting Heavy Equipment Technicians/Heavy Duty Mechanics Journeypersons for the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, AB. Fly to site, 14 days on, 14 days off, 12 hours per day, with on-site camp accommodations at Wapasu.

Perform maintenance, overhauls, and diagnostics on CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi equipment and related machinery. Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal is required, along with safety certifications and a valid Class 5 license.

Responsibilities

• Hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment and sizes including CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi/etc.
• Large scale overhauls and rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot and diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Preventive maintenance and services.
• Complete work according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Work closely with customers maintenance and operations personnel.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.
• Mine Equipment experience - large graders, shovels, dozers (D-9 - D-11's), haul trucks (797's) and other related equipment.
• Ability to understand hydraulic and electronic schematics.

Charter flights are provided from Calgary/Edmonton to site!Shift schedules will be on a14 days on, 14 days off, 12 hours per day. While working on site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facility, Wi-Fi, commissary and much more!

Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeypersons maintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. Heavy lifting is required.
