Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Mirabel designs and manufactures major landing gear components for Airbus and Boeing programs using state-of-the-art CNC machining centers. Your role covers verification, assembly, and machining operations with a focus on quality and process improvement.

You will analyze technical drawings, program data, and procedures, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and operations run safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

DEP in machining techniques is required.
Experience on CNC machine tools is essential.
Basic computer knowledge is needed to access technical documents.

Responsibilities

Verify, prepare, and perform assembly of the part.
Carry out machining operations according to the range.
Solve technical problems or provide solutions to method technicians and CNC programmers.
Inspect the part to ensure specifications and take action on non-conformities.
Organize work and prioritize tasks per instructions.
Consult technical documents and complete QA documentation when needed.
Ensure tools/jigs and equipment are in good condition.
Inform technicians of operation conditions and suggest improvements.
Assist with improvement projects and development.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major components of landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

You will manufacture landing gear components using high-tech equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and multi-axis CNC machining centers.

More Specifically, You Will Be Called To

verify, prepare, and perform the assembly of the part
carry out machining operations according to the machining range
solve technical problems or, if necessary, provide solutions to method technicians and CNC programmers
inspect the part to ensure compliance with specifications and take necessary measures if abnormal situations are detected
organize your work and prioritize tasks based on instructions received on parts to be processed first
consult technical documents on the computer such as work drawings, operation sheets, procedures, and complete, if necessary, the appropriate quality assurance documentation
ensure that tools/jigs and equipment are in good condition
inform technicians of the conditions of operations (tools, assembly, documentation, CNC programs, data) and make suggestions for improvement
assist technicians with improvement projects and development
contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and achieving team objectives in terms of safety, quality, costs, and on-time deliveries

Evening shift from Monday to Thursday from 2:20 PM to 12:20 AM

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (evening, night, or weekend).

The salary for this position starts between $31.18 and $45.12 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring job-related skills, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $48.97.
