Job description

TITLE: Machine Technician 1 (Non-Exempt) 1st Shift

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Team Leader and Manager

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Machine Technician is responsible for operating plastic blow molding machines and related equipment, including PMs, basic mechanical, and process-related tasks. This position will work with MT 3 and Maintenance at times.

The Primary Duties of a Machine Technician include:

• Understands, follows, and enforces all established Safety, Health, QA, BRC Standards and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
• Follows all Safety Protocols, including Lock Out / Tag Out.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement (CIP) with the team.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and neat work area per GMP.
• Supplies Production Lines with material and packaging.
• Maintains consistent manufacturing production with frequent visual checks to ensure a quality product.
• Maintains accurate and timely machine operating records, including daily and weekly logs.
• Prompt notification of any issues or problems for the Team leader and/or maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned, including GO tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED; basic Math aptitude; skills, mechanically inclined; Must be able to safely handle required lifting weight up to 50 pounds.
• The position requires standing, frequent bending, and twisting movements for the duration of the shift.
• A minimum of 2-3 years in manufacturing is required, and 1-2 years of machine experience.
• Technicians are required to interact with managers, employees, and vendors. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:
  • This position must be available for any mandatory overtime including weekends.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
  • Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.
