Duha Color Services is seeking a dependable Machine Operator for the night shift in Winnipeg, MB. You will handle machine setup, operation, and prepare items for shipping while following safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Discuss daily workflow with the team leader at the beginning of each shift.
• Operate finishing machines including collators, marrying line, cutters, drills, and other equipment.
• Perform general maintenance of machines.
• Hand assemble products.
• Organize stock and re-pile as needed; move and wrap skids.
• Ensure finished skids are properly identified and records are kept.
• Maintain a clean work area and comply with safety policies.
• Empty garbage bins as required and ensure available empty skids at the machine.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
• Work in other areas/machines in finishing as required.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Machine Operator reports directly to the Finishing Manager in the Finishing Department and is responsible for day-to-day functions such as machine setup, operation, preparing for shipping, and miscellaneous duties as required. Follow all safety procedures, understand all safety equipment and adhere to the company policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Discuss daily workflow with the team leader at the beginning of each shift.
• Running of various machines in Finishing, including but not limited to collators, marrying line, cutters, drills, round corner machines, box making machine, Fan deck machine, and bagging machines.
• General maintenance of machines.
• Hand assembly of products.
• Organize stock.
• Re-piling of stock.
• Moving skids.
• Wrap skids as necessary.
• Ensur e all finished skids are properly identified (ie: record job name, pages & card #, operators, date, amount & move to designated area).
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Empty garbage bins as required throughout the day and at the end of the shift.
• Ensure that there are available empty skids at the machine at all times.
• Any further tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
• Working in other areas/machines in finishing as required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must be able to lift material weighing 50lbs maximum.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of organization.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or Level 12 G.E.D.
• Machine operator/production experience as an asset.
• Knowledge of quality and safety issues.
• Computer experience is an asset.

Monday to Friday from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am
