Job summary

Fresh Prep is seeking a reliable Machine Operator to join our production team in Calgary, Alberta. You will set up, run, and maintain portioning and packaging machinery to ensure high-quality ingredients are packed safely and efficiently for our meal kits.

Responsibilities include operating packaging machinery, maintaining allergen segregation, and logging output with Google Sheets/Excel, while upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating or maintaining packaging/portioning machinery in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with basic spreadsheet data entry (Excel or Google Sheets).

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, operate, and clean single-use portioning and packaging machines.
• Package food items according to weekly recipe specifications and stage finished goods for distribution.
• Maintain allergen segregation and conduct routine quality checks.
• Log daily output, inventory checks, and machine metrics using Google Sheets/Excel.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and end-of-shift cleanup.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up, calibrate, operate, and clean single-use food portioning and packaging machines.
• Package food items according to weekly recipe specifications and staging finished goods for distribution.
• Maintain strict allergen segregation, conduct routine quality checks, and keep your station clean and compliant with food safety standards.
• Log daily output, inventory checks, and machine metrics using Google Sheets / Excel.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-of-shift station cleanup.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience operating or maintaining packaging/portioning machinery in a fast-paced environment (food or manufacturing preferred).
• Familiarity with basic spreadsheet data entry (Excel or Google Sheets).
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and work comfortably on your feet in a cold production environment (0-4°C).
• Strong work ethic, great communication skills, and a commitment to showing up on time for your team.
