Job summary

Fresh Prep is hiring for a packaging position in a fast-paced production setting in Calgary. You will handle ingredients packaging per recipe specs, operate dedicated packaging machines, and ensure a clean, safe facility with strict safety protocols.

The role requires ability to lift up to 35 lbs, work in 0–4 C, and participate in end-of-shift cleanup. You will join a collaborative team focused on quality and efficiency while supporting our sustainable meal kit mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced production environments is a plus.
• Ability to follow weekly recipe specifications and safety protocols.
• Basic data entry and inventory tracking skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pack ingredients per recipe specifications into appropriate packaging.
• Prepare and package food items using specified single-use packaging machines.
• Set up and maintain packaging machines in safe, good operating condition.
• Work in a safe, clean, food-safe production facility and help keep it that way.
• Lift up to 35 lbs and perform end-of-shift cleanup and proper staging of finished products.
• Work in a shift area with temperature between 0-4 degrees Celsius.

What You'll Be Doing

• The main activity in this department is the packaging of the ingredients per our different recipes specifications, into their appropriate plastic packaging and kits.
• You will prepare and package food items according to weekly recipe specifications with the use and operation of specific single use packaging portioning machines.
• You will be required to set up and maintain the packaging machines in safe, clean and good operating condition.
• You will be required to work in a safe manner and to assist in maintaining a clean, healthy, food-safe production facility.
• This position involves frequent bending and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as part of the essential duties.
• The role includes end-of-shift cleanup and the proper staging of finished products.
• You will be working your shift in an area where the temperature is maintained between 0-4 degrees Celsius.

What We Are Looking For

• Operated and maintained industrial portioning and packaging machines in a fast-paced production environment, ensuring consistent output and minimum downtime.
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial portioning and packaging machines in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
• Strong numerical skills with experience in inventory management and stock control.
• Solid understanding of allergen segregation and food safety compliance.
• Clear, articulate communicator with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic team player who practices professionalism and understanding in all interactions.

• Schedule of Thursday to Sunday from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
