Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a Manager, Business Development to build and lead our M&A origination capability, while personally sourcing acquisition opportunities in a high-velocity environment. This player-coach role will develop an origination team, implement scalable processes, and drive relationships with founders and executives.

You will operate within Harris' Public Safety portfolio and benefit from exposure to the Constellation Software acquisition culture.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in M&A origination, business development, investing or related roles.
• Experience coaching or managing others is preferred.
• Hunter mentality with success in outreach and relationship management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to articulate investment philosophy.
• Financial literacy to interpret statements and software economics.
• Discipline in CRM hygiene and autonomous work.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the origination team with clear performance expectations.
• Conduct market research, pipeline reviews and prioritize opportunities.
• Segment markets and refresh target lists using public and proprietary sources.
• Originate and qualify opportunities through multi-channel outreach.
• Attend conferences to build relationships and expand the pipeline.
• Maintain relationships with CEOs, founders and intermediaries.
• Manage qualification and pipeline with CRM data.
