Job summary

Blackbird Security Inc. is seeking a Loss Prevention Training Supervisor in Vancouver, BC. You will lead and train a high-performing Loss Prevention team, coordinating AST certification and ensuring adherence to LP standards for client sites across the region.

The ideal candidate will hold a BC Security License with AST, have supervisory/training experience, and demonstrate strong English communication. A valid driver's license is preferred for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee LP officer training with regional managers.
• Coordinate AST certification for LP officers with Training Team.
• Ensure clear communication and professional conduct.
• Train LP Officers to company standards and ongoing development.
• Identify training gaps and develop improvement plans.
• Ensure LP reporting meets standards and prevents false arrests.
• Conduct site audits of LP results and provide frequent check-ins.
• Act as liaison with law enforcement as needed.
• Cover billable LP time and perform related duties.

Join our team as a Loss Prevention Training Supervisor, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success of Blackbird Security Inc. in delivering top-notch services to our retail clients in Vancouver, BC. As the supervisor, you'll be instrumental in building and leading a high-performing Loss Prevention team, providing the necessary training and support to equip them for their responsibilities in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the training of Loss Prevention Officers in collaboration with Regional and District Managers.
• Coordinate Advanced Security Training (AST) certification for Loss Prevention Officers with the Training Team.
• Ensure clear communication with staff and uphold professional conduct standards.
• Train all Loss Prevention Officers to meet company standards and facilitate their continuing professional development.
• Identify training gaps in current LPO guards and develop plans to address them.
• Ensure all LPO reporting meets company standards, and prevent false arrests by ensuring adherence to mandatory loss prevention elements.
• Conduct site-by-site audits of LPO results and provide frequent check-ins to assess guards' understanding of protocols.
• Act as a liaison with law enforcement when necessary.
• Cover billable LPO time when required and perform other related duties as assigned by management.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a valid BC Security License and Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate.
• Previous supervisory and training experience is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in arresting and detaining shoplifters.
• Proficient in loss prevention procedures, both in theory and practice.
• Possesses a valid driver's license and own vehicle (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and proficient in electronic communication.
• Willingness to attend meetings and training sessions to enhance skills.
• Knowledgeable about safety processes and procedures.
• Ability to lead with clear objectives and effectively manage a team.
