Job summary

Blackbird Security in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to protect a retail environment. You will work in plain clothes, blending in with shoppers, while patrolling aisles, monitoring cameras, and responding to thefts with appropriate action.

Ideal candidates have an Ontario Security License and a Use of Force certification (preferred). Minimum 1 year undercover LPO experience and strong communication skills are required. This is an in-person, on-site role in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Undercover/LPO experience required (1 year).
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting in retail settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Wear plain clothes to work undercover, discreetly blending in with shoppers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise.
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.
