Save-On-Foods is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer in Nanaimo, BC. You will operate undercover on the sales floor to deter theft, conduct discreet observations, and protect assets while maintaining a customer-first approach.

You’ll collaborate with staff and law enforcement as needed and complete thorough reports of findings. The role requires a valid BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard status, reliable transport for traveling between locations, and the ability to handle sensitive

Qualifications

• Must hold a BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard certification.
• Ability to travel between store locations with reliable transportation.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with professionalism.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Demonstrates integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to go the extra mile.
• AST training is an asset; second language is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain undercover plain-clothes presence on the sales floor.
• Identify and address potential theft, fraud, and mischief through discreet observations.
• Engage customers with a customer-first mindset and professional demeanor.
• Conduct security audits of the building and assets.
• Perform arrests, asset recoveries, and documentation of evidence.

• Document evidence and prepare clear, concise reports as required.

We are hiring a Loss Prevention Officer for our locations in Nanaimo, BC.

You will be responsible for:

• Maintaining an undercover, plain-clothes presence on the sales floor while blending into the store environment.
• Conducting discreet observations to identify and address potential theft, fraud, and mischief.
• Approaching situations with a customer-first mindset.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor when dealing with the public, staff, and law enforcement agencies.
• Conducting security audits of the building and assets.
• Performing arrests, ask to pays, and product recoveries.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Documenting all evidence and typing clear and concise reports as required.

You have:

• A valid BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard
• Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between various store locations.
• The ability tomaintainconfidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information with a high degree of professionalismand discretion.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• Valid Advanced Security Training/AST (considered an asset).
• Fluency in a second language (considered an asset).
• Open availability (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:

$20.00 - $26.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
