Job Summary: We are currently hiring a Logistics Supervisor to work with one of our Military Defense manufacturing clients in Ingersoll, ON. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the coordination and execution of all logistics activities within the manufacturing environment. This includes monitoring and reviewing all freight related charges, providing oversight on all shipment paperwork and managing the movement, storage and distribution of materials and finished goods to ensure timely production and delivery. The role requires a strong understanding of supply chain operations, inventory management and team leadership.

Job Location: Ingersoll, ON
Compensation Structure: 65k-75k per annum, dependent on experience. + benefits + RRSP match.
Shift Structure: 3-shift rotation; Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Train, coach, develop and evaluate Logistics team members to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures.
- Planning and supervising workloads, creating training tools, reviewing and updating work instructions.
- In collaboration with management, define and achieve supply chain strategies and objectives regarding quality of service and cost optimization.
- Supervise daily logistics operations including receiving, inventory control, material handling and shipping.
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, inventory, planning, and quality teams to ensure all materials are delivered on time and meet standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations, as well as import and export documentation
- Analyze logistics performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resolve shipping and transportation issues with vendors, carriers and internal departments.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of inventory, shipments and logistics transactions.
- Provide support to logistics team members in all areas of freight scheduling.
- Responsible for RFQ process and selecting carrier(s). Coordinate with multiple carriers, as appropriate.
- Analyzing and validating that freight invoices are complete and accurate.
- Measure functional metrics to evaluate and improve the overall process.
- Negotiate freight rates.
- Manage any claims that result from damage, delays or charges related to the transportation of shipments.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and freight forwarders.
- Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using it for benefit of third parties.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Positive leader with a high rate of success anticipating needs and exceptional task management abilities.
- Proven record of effective team coaching and development.
- Working knowledge of cross border shipments and experience working to directly resolve challenges presented during border crossings.
- Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory, and warehousing.
- Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
- High-level attention to detail and accuracy oriented. Ability to work with limited guidance.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.

- Working knowledge of tariff classification(s), CUSMA, certification of goods, freight code, NMFC and class for LTL, ACE and CERS portals.
- Ability to establish simple and effective communication tools.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required, based on business needs. After hours contact for the department.
- Knowledge of Defense industry considered an asset
Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be either a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen.
- Must have worked in Canada the last 5+ years.
- Must have not left Canada for more than 6 months in the last 5 years.
- Must be willing to pass a clean criminal background.
- Must have at least 1 work reference and 2 personal references.
