Job summary

Marks Supply Inc. is seeking a highly organized Logistics Coordinator to manage daily delivery operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle routing, communicate with drivers, sales staff, and customers, and adapt to last-minute changes to ensure timely, accurate deliveries. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in logistics or dispatch, experience with routing software, and strong problem-solving and communication skills, within our Ontario operations.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of logistics/dispatch experience.
  • Familiar with routing software and tracking systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process cross-dock and unrouted orders each morning.
  • Coordinate same-day or GTA shipments with sales writers.
  • Serve as first point of contact for driver call-outs and contingency plans.
  • Inform customers of delays and maintain communication.
  • Log issues and submit end-of-shift reports.
  • Monitor delivery progress and update ETAs hourly.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team and manage daily delivery operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for efficient order routing, handling last-minute changes, and ensuring clear communication between drivers, sales staff, and customers. The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem-solver who thrives under pressure and is committed to upholding our high standard of customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Routing & Order Management
  • Review and process cross-dock and unrouted orders from the shipping department each morning, route all orders in Descartes and handle manual entries from trackers or emails.
  • Coordinate with sales writers for same-day or out-of-GTA shipments; upload will-call and same-day orders; organize second runs to complete daily deliveries.
  • Act as first point of contact for driver call-outs; create contingency plans and communicate route changes, pickups, and special instructions to drivers.
  • Report issues, delays, or driver problems to sales writers; proactively inform customers of late deliveries; maintain ongoing communication with team members and coordinators.
  • Manage Boon Truck requests, cross-dock trackers from other branches, and next-day Boom Truck orders in Descartes.
  • Confirm courier bookings when company trucks are unavailable; log daily issues and submit end-of-shift summary reports.
  • Monitor delivery progress, update ETAs hourly, and notify sales writers of delays through trackers.
Qualifications
  • Proven 1 -2-years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation coordination.
  • Proficiency with routing software (e.g., Descartes, TruckStops, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position may require up to 44 hours per week in a fast-paced office environment.

  • May require occasional light physical activity - lifting (up to 10 lbs.)
  • Primarily sedentary role with extended computer work.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, phone, and writing.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate and hear over the telephone and in person.
  • Standard office hours, with flexibility as needed to complete routes and reporting.
  • Regular interaction with drivers, sales staff, customers, and coordinators.
