Overview :

The Logistics Coordinator primarily manages daily customer interactions related to cement order placement. This role involves coordinating with sales teams, operations, and contract truck partners to ensure timely delivery aligned with industry standards.

Effective communication with truck partners is crucial to ensure efficient, on-time delivery of Lafarge’s materials. The Coordinator also handles administrative tasks related to billing and invoicing after delivery.

This full-time, customer-facing role demands a service-oriented, professional approach. Success in this position requires problem-solving skills, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, troubleshooting abilities, and efficiency-focused thinking.

This role offers an opportunity to learn about Lafarge Western Canada's business and sales operations, including cement, concrete, and aggregate manufacturing, distribution through plants and terminals, logistics channels, and industry success factors.

Major responsibilities :
  • Adhere to all Lafarge safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage order intake and fulfillment for delivery or pickup, including carrier assignment.
  • Exceed customer expectations in line with policies and procedures.
  • Advocate for customer interests, resolving obstacles and problems impacting service.
  • Maintain high-quality communication across all channels, knowledgeable about Lafarge’s products and services.
  • Work flexible hours, including shifts and after-hours calls as needed.
  • Review terminal inventory and select supplies accordingly.
  • Input manual Bills of Lading and generate monthly reports.
  • Conduct proactive outbound customer calls.
  • Support sales and credit teams with account management and monitoring.
  • Maintain comprehensive backup information for after-sales support.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external truck partners.
  • Assist with customer account reconciliation and cleanup.
  • Manage credit card payments and maintain transaction records.
  • Ensure documentation compliance for audit purposes.
Qualification Profile

Education and Work Experience :

An associate degree or college diploma in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of building materials industry and product familiarity is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
