Our client in Peel Region is actively looking for a Logistics, Business Development Specialist to join their team.

Title : Logistics, Business Development Specialist

Job Type : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $, / yr + Commissions

Job Description :

  1. Plan and conduct market research to identify new opportunities and territories.
  2. Develop strategies to improve quality, efficiency, and sell price of existing services.
  3. Develop strategies to maintain and/or improve company profit margins.
  4. Increase sales volume from existing customers by adding more lanes, products, or services.
  5. Identify corporate deficiencies and strategize to address them.
  6. Develop and implement strategic sales plans in the assigned territory.
  7. Generate new business through lead generation, cold calling, and outreach via letters, emails, or phone calls in the assigned territory.
  8. Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective clients.
  9. Provide quotations/bids and follow up appropriately for each contact.
  10. Successfully close deals.
  11. Create SOPs for new customers and support the onboarding process between operations and clients.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to new and existing clients.
  13. Monitor sales results and prepare monthly status reports on sales and pipeline accounts.

Required skill set :

  1. University or College degree with business/financial knowledge (preferred).
  2. Good understanding of profit margins and markup on costs.
  3. Knowledge of trends in the logistics industry.
  4. Familiarity with sales and marketing tools.
  5. Proven self-starter with at least 1 year of experience in PL sales.
  6. At least 1 year of experience in Logistics Sales.
  7. Successful track record of closing new business.
  8. Customer-centric approach.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
