Job summary

Mount Royal University is seeking an Audio Visual Technician within the Events, Theatre and Hospitality Services team. The role supports performances and other events across multiple venues and handles setup, live sound, recording, and hybrid meetings under supervision.

The position is flexible with a variable schedule, offering hours from three per shift up to 35 per week, and reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma or journeyman ticket required.
• 2–3 years of previous experience and specific job training.

Responsibilities

• Works events as a general Audio Visual Technician.
• Provides set up for non-performance activities in classrooms such as instruction meetings or rehearsal.
• Ensures the Lead is informed of needs to support performance activities.
• Records and submits chargeable time and resources for invoicing.
• Performs live sound reinforcement and digital recording/video for events.
• Performs and/or assists with live streams and hybrid meetings.
• Maintains AV equipment and performs routine maintenance.
