Job summary

VG Meats is seeking an Operations Leader to oversee the Rollstock Department in Simcoe, ON, driving daily production excellence in a fast-paced meat processing facility.

You will champion Health & Safety, enforce quality standards, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor hourly staff while reporting to the Plant Manager. VG Meats promotes a regenerative workplace with learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in manufacturing/production management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication and strong organizational skills.
• Proven leadership and motivational abilities.
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
• Food experience preferred.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Computer literacy and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Adherence to Quality standards.
• Report and address food safety issues.
• Design and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage employee relations; recognition and progressive discipline.
• Ensure employee training goals and programs are maintained and skill matrix is current.
• Monitor and manage all maintenance, safety and sanitation programs for compliance and frequency.
• Mentor, coach, and lead hourly associates to improve skills and performance.
• Reports to: Plant Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
